Fun Things to Do in San Antonio This Weekend
Fun Things to Do in San Antonio This Weekend
There's more to this historic Texas city than you think!
A Reluctant Tale: How I Came to Love San Antonio
I'm ashamed to admit that I lived in Houston for 18 years and only visited San Antonio a handful of times. It's probably one of the easiest drives since you can just hop on I-10 and head west until you hit the city.
So if San Antonio is that close to Houston and the drive was easy as I claimed, then why hadn't I spent more time in San Antonio?
Maybe because I heard there wasn't much to do but see The Alamo and walk up and down the Riverwalk. Been there done that a few times and I was more than good on both of those things.
So when Melanie, my friend, and former co-worker, moved to San Antonio, I was happy for her professionally but secretly I thought "ok girl, good luck with that". Over the years, EVERY TIME I talked to Melanie, she always had something awesome to say about San Antonio. Where she and her husband went. Where they ate. Where they grabbed a drink. And I never could understand why she loved San Antonio so much. Honestly, I just didn't get it. But looking back now, I probably didn't try to get it either because my mind was made up that San Antonio was a "hell no for me."
A few months ago, Melanie really started jumping into Instagram (follow her, she's pretty adorable) and posting beautiful pictures of her around San Antonio that actually wasn't the Riverwalk or the Alamo. And I'll admit, my interest was piqued.
When Melanie invited me for a weekend in San Antonio, I couldn't resist. She promised to take me on a whirlwind tour of all the coolest places in her city and show me why it's such a great place to visit and live. Thanks to Melanie, I now LOVE San Antonio!
Keep reading for a list of a few things we got to do and a few San Antonio attractions that are on my list for my next visit to SA.
