Urban Decay NAKED HEAT Palette Review
Urban Decay NAKED HEAT Palette (here)
I finally got my hot little hands on the newest NAKED eye shadow palette from Urban Decay. NAKED HEAT is the latest in the NAKED palette line-up and it's hot! I still remember receiving my first NAKED palette (NAKED 1) for my birthday many moons ago. As much as I was a fan of the NAKED 1 palette, the shadows were a very frosty cool mix of shimmers and metallics. And, in my opinion, the matte shades had a tendency to look weird or ashy on brown skin tones.
Enter the new NAKED HEAT palette. A warm mixture of 12 colors consisting of rich coppers and bronzes. Unlike some of its predecessors, NAKED HEAT is heavy on rich mattes, 7 to be exact. Let's All Rejoice! (2) shimmers and (3) metallics round out the dozen with fun hot names like "Ashes", "Ember" and "Cayenne".
Here's what I LOVED:
The packaging is so sexy, the picture doesn't give it justice. You'll have to see it in person to fully understand what I mean. Inside, the warm colors are so rich and beautiful. Annnnnnnd, they are flattering to all skin tones. Woohoo! See the color swatches on my skin tone below. Isn't the color pay-off gorgeous?
Here's what I wasn't a fan of:
A few of the neutral matte shades, particularly "Sauced" (which I LOVE) crumbles easily in the tray when loading color onto my brush. Thinking it was just user error (me), I set out to Google other reviews and found similar experiences with the neutral mattes.
Overall thoughts . . .
I'm definitely a fan of the Urban Decay NAKED HEAT palette. I've played around with a few copper/reddish looks and and received some thumbs up. Overall, I'm a fan of this palette. Definitely can't to try more looks with the NAKED HEAT palette.
