Shante, you stay. Sashay, away.
It'a no secret, I'm obsessed with RuPaul and RuPaul's Drag Race. Have you seen an episode? If you haven't had the pleasure, you are missing out. Here's a quick rundown . . .
Each season the biggest, boldest and sassiest drag queens from all over the country and Central America compete to be the America's Next Drag Super Star. Annnnnnnnd lemme tell you, they came to win. Each week, they compete in a challenges to bring them 1 step closer to the crown. The 2 queens that place in the bottom 2 must immediately "lip sync for their lives" to a song of RuPaul's choosing. But not before RuPaul ominously reminds them to "not f*ck it up!" Pressure much?!
Boho Kimono Vibes
Okay, so what does a kimono have to do with RuPaul's Drag race? One season, the challenge was to recreate one of Madonna's iconic looks from any era of her career. With 100's of looks to choose from, multiple queens unknowingly chose to showcase Madonna's red kimono look. It was like Groundhog Day on the runway. Prompting the judges to appropriately deem the look a "kimono she better don't!" I'm know that I'm doing a HORRIBLE job of telling this story but the judges, RuPaul and Michelle Visage's, jibs and facial expressions were hilarious.
So let's talk about this look. I am absolutely LOVING this boho kimono vibe. For a trendy look, this kimono was a little bit of a splurge for me (check out this amazing Forever 21 dup kimono for under $25 here). Because the kimono pattern was so bold and beautiful, I️ didn't want to detract from it. So these Target step hem jeans from their curvy denim collection and an Asos deep-v blouse was perfect. Wearing a kimono robe is so fun and I can't wait to wear it with a black mini dress and silver ankle boots next.
