Having an Attitude of Gratitude For My Bills
Attitude of Gratitude
This past week most of us celebrated the holiday of Thanksgiving with loved ones, family and friends. Thanksgiving is the one time of year families gather in each other's presence to meet, eat and reflect. Proclaimed a national holiday by Abraham Lincoln in 1863, families have celebrated the holiday of Thanksgiving for over 150 years.
Annnnnd, this year my family ditched me lieu of a trip to Branson, MO. Not even joking at all. Seriously, who does that?! Apparently, they didn't get the memo about Thanksgiving = Families. Thankfully, I was adopted this holiday by Meek's family.
Despite the the abandonment issues I now (jokingly) face, this past holiday really filled my heart with gratitude and thankfulness. My gratitude reflection was fueled by a mega friend bonding session involving a fire pit and whiskey spiked coffee. As we sat around the fire and recited the "10 Things I'm Thankful For", one thing Meek mentioned really really stood out to me the most . . . "I am thankful for my bills."
Thanks for the Bills???
Who says that? Who thinks that? Clearly this person is not all there. Because who is "Thankful" for bills? So why is she so "Thankful" for her bills and why should I be "Thankful" for mine?
Recently going through cancer, Meek is "Thankful" for her medical bills because they've paid for the services, facilities and skills of doctors and healthcare workers that have kept her alive. Although she wants to cry when she sees her medical bills (FYI: Cancer isn't cheap), she is grateful for the all of the above and her ability to pay them.
Simple: Having an Attitude of Gratitude is all about perspective. Blessings are every where.
About the Look:
A great A-line skirt is a pear-shaped female's best friend. The shape of the skirt helps to give the appearance of a more hourglass figure with a tinier waist. And who doesn't LOVE that?! My staple go-to this season, previously warned in past posts of being in "heavy rotation", is the black off-the-shoulder body suit. I seriously cannot get enough of it. Paired with a my favorite OTK boots (awesome for ladies with thicker legs) and statement bag in one of Fall's most confident colors, Aurora Red.
