Velvet Crush Trend Alert

Give me ALL of the velvet feels!

This season, velvet is EVERYWHERE annnnnnnnd I'm loving it!  From what I remember, the velvet of the 90's was mainly relegated to a scallop-edged semi-formal dresses worn with french roll hairstyles during some super awkward school dance.  Jessica McClintock was everybody's jam!  Basically, the velvet semi-formal dress was practically a rite of passage in every pre-teen's life.  Fast forward to today . . . .  I LOVE that velvet is not just reserved for "special occasions" anymore.  Velvet is now found in casual outfits, shoes, dresses, purses.

I've become a HUGE fan of velvet body suits.  One of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE looks on the blog was an Express deep-v velvet body suit with a fringy suede skirt and velvet booties.  The look was a happy accident.  I had a photoshoot scheduled early in the morning with practically nothing to wear.  I only had pieces to wear but no outfits.  As you can guess, the stress level was at about a 9.5.  With less than 45 minutes until stores closed, my cousin from Cali and I went shopping.  #Success  See how I styled a velvet with suede, velvet with pants and velvet with white denim.  Here are some of my favorite velvet picks I'm crushing on this season.
