Must-Have Phone Editing Apps

Lightroom Photo Editor

Lightroom is pretty much the OG-Gold-Standard when it comes to photo editing.  Think of Lightroom as Homebase.  Homebase is where all of your core photo edits take place.  In the Lightroom Mobile app, you can apply presets to give all your photos that professional and cohesive look.  You can also lighten and darken photos, change color intensities, and so much more.  And the best part, the Lightroom mobile app is FREE.  BOOM!

Looking for a Lightroom preset to make your pictures pop?  Snatch my FREE preset for Lightroom mobile, “The Instant Upgrade”.    It’ll take your pictures from “wow” to “WOW!”

TouchRetouch

This app is a miracle worker.  Meaning, it’s basically witchcraft and wizardry.  Forget trying to learn Photoshop just to remove something from a pic.  Use the TouchRetouch App to quickly and easily remove unwanted objects, signs, power lines, cars, etc from your picture.  Also, it’s great for removing random people (ugh, especially in travel photos) that have almost ruined your perfect photo.

PicsArt

What can’t the PicsArt app do??? That’s the real question.  And to be honest, I’ve barely scratched the surface when it comes to reaching the PicsArt app’s full potential.  Here’s just a small sampling of things you can do in PicsArt: add paint and glitter overlays to your photos, edit videos, create collages, change backgrounds and the sky in your picture, and soooooooo much more. If you can imagine it, you can create it in PicsArt.

LensLight Visual Effects

A favorite phone editing app of mine, the LenLight Visual Effects app lets you add some pretty cool artistic “Photoshop-like” touches to your photos.  Add realistic lens effects like bokeh, lens flares, light leaks, and rainbows to really make your pictures stand out.

Afterlight

Two words:  vintage vibes.  With the Afterlight app, you can instantly give your photos that nostalgic feel by adding a textured overlay of dust and cracks.

FaceTune

Another phone editing app that’s high on the “how did they do that?” scale is the FaceTune app.   Basically, it’s like having your own personal retouch artist at your beck and call.  The FaceTune app is great for those detailed tiny touch-ups that can really elevate your photography.  In this app, you can brighten and whiten your teeth, remove that annoying blemish that popped up, make your eyes sparkle and pop, accentuate your hair highlights, and much more.

These are currently the apps I use to edit my photos on-the-go on my iPhone. Did I miss any of your favorite photo editing apps? Let me know because I love learning about new apps for smartphone photo editing. Over to you.
